Preparing the Ground for New Love by Kathy Sanborn.

It is a myth that you need to have a partner in your life in order to be considered whole. You are already complete exactly as you are. Whether in partnership or not, you are a total being, sufficient unto yourself. A spiritual relationship does not mean two halves becoming one whole, but two whole individuals acting in concert. Pairing up simply for the sake of having a mate by your side will not ensure a feeling of being complete; the feeling of completeness comes from the absolute knowledge that you are perfectly whole at every moment.

When you go through a period of time with no significant romantic relationship, it can be a tremendous opportunity for spiritual growth and preparation for new love to enter your life. No matter how your last relationship ended, it ended for a reason--and your time of "aloneness" can be best spent by doing daily meditation, taking quiet walks in nature, and being grateful for everything you have. By focusing on what you do have, as opposed to dwelling on what you lack, you will open the door to attracting more good things, including love, into your life.

Of course, being alone is not the same thing as being lonely. One can be quite solitary, yet be perfectly content with life the way it is. On the other hand, an individual can feel very lonely while surrounded by many people.

Going through a time of loneliness generally means that you need to grow closer to your own higher wisdom. Once you have made a solid connection with your inner guide, feelings of loneliness will fall away. Becoming one with your True Self allows you to accept yourself without reservation, to recognize your interconnectedness with all things, and to flow easily with the plan of your life, trusting that there is a master plan at work.

Kathy : Several years ago, after an emotionally painful relationship ended, I felt both devastated and completely alone. Eventually, I gained a peace and contentment which I had never before experienced. For me, the key was spending a lot of time getting in touch with my higher wisdom, which helped me to realize that everything I needed, I already had. I also saw that my life was going along a definite path, and I was allowed brief glimpses of that path on a "need to know" basis. In other words, when it was time for me to take another step, my inner wisdom would show me just what step to take, and nothing more.

Make no mistake, it is not always easy to focus on the positive things in your life, especially if you have recently undergone the loss of a relationship. It is exceedingly difficult at first to come to terms with the overwhelming grief that accompanies such a profound void in your life. As part of a couple, one shares companionship and closeness; suddenly, the world seems to be a cold and empty place when your loved one is gone, whether through physical death or the dissolution of a relationship.

You possess everything you need to weather any challenge that presents itself. In fact, your inner spirit holds all of the strength, wisdom, and knowledge you could ask for, as long as you allow its insights to enter your awareness. Your True Self is an invaluable guide as you steer your way through the desolation of a relationship loss. Hold your course steady, and your inner pilot, the True Self, will show you the way.

Not only are you able to access the wisdom of your inner spirit by listening to its guidance, you have the ability to become one with it as well. By practicing the principles that follow, you will begin to merge with your spiritual self. Once you reach the level of oneness with the soul, life becomes less a struggle and more a joy.

Seeds to Becoming Your True Self 1. Accept Yourself as You Are

You are complete exactly as you are, right at this moment. You do not require approval from the outside world in order to be. Your status, income, and appearance make no difference when it comes to your value as a spiritual being on this earth. Each person is an equal in the realm of the soul. Beggar or king, we all enter this world to be of service to our fellow humans. Remember, you are divine, and you are entrusted with the precious gift of life. Accompanying this gift is a responsibility to share your special talents with the rest of creation, and by doing so, afford yourself the opportunity to grow spiritually. Accepting yourself as you are means having compassion and love for your own being, and is the primary step in living your life from the soul level.

Wayne : Frequently, I have a habit of blaming myself for past relationship mistakes, as if I were the only one responsible for the difficulties. I know that I have a little bit of work to do in this area yet. My goal is to increase my self-compassion, because deep down, I know that all my so-called mistakes were simply valuable learning experiences, and have made me what I am today. 2. Live Your Dream

Everyone is endowed with special abilities that can be cultivated and used on a path of service. Your inner wisdom guides you to use your unique skills by rousing and energizing your ambitions. By listening to the prompting of your soul, you will be led to take the right action in order to accomplish your dreams.

Your goals are as valuable as anyone else's goals, so take care that you do not dismiss them as being unattainable or farfetched. A dream is meant to be pursued and to be achieved, as it is part of your life's purpose to fulfill it. When you do not follow your heart, you open the door to a life of endless frustration. Aiming for your dreams allows you to flow easily with the master plan of your life.

You know a goal is an element of your life's plan when it brings joy to you and others, serves humanity by making the world a better place to live, and adds to your own personal abundance. Be flexible, however, if the universe should ask you to adjust your goals midstream. Your True Self knows the big picture of your life, while you are given just a small sketch of the master plan. Sometimes, the path you need to take may seem to be a detour, when, in reality, it is exactly the right road for you to choose. Since your inner guide is in possession of all the facts, trust that the door being opened to you is a favorable one.

Kathy : Several years ago, I was guided to quit my very secure job and to venture out on another career path. This new path did not seem to be in the cards for me due to one obstacle after another cropping up along the way. I was then led to a different opportunity of becoming a writer. At the time, this seemed to be a detour, but my writing career has evolved, happily enough, into my life's work. 3. Live a Life of Love

Life is magical when lived with love. To be of true service in the world, not only will you need to have more love in your heart, you will need to share that love with the people you encounter each day, friends and strangers alike. If there is very little love in your heart, then correspondingly, you will have very little love to give. By practicing the meditation seed exercises and the other techniques in this book, the love inside of you will blossom, and you will find that you have much more love to contribute to others.

When you have increased the love in your heart, you will know it by the way others respond to you. People may notice your radiant presence which has a soothing effect on them, and they may wonder how you remain calm, even under the most challenging circumstances. In addition, you will have a stronger sense of inner peace, a greater faith in the universe, and an expanded feeling of gratitude for all you have. 4. Cherish Your Body

As you go farther along the trail of becoming one with your True Self, your body's requirements will change. This is a normal occurrence when one's spiritual awareness grows, so you can expect various transformations in your dietary habits. This will likely take on the form of reduced intake of red meat, alcohol, tobacco, and fatty foods. Your body will probably begin to crave more fresh fruits, vegetables, and pure drinking water. Along with changing your diet, your body may call for increased physical activity or exercise. You will be led by your inner wisdom as to what your body needs to maintain a healthy style of living.

The practice of allowing your soul and body to work in concert will help free you to focus your energy on the master plan of your life. Your body is the instrument of the soul, and must be tuned and honored accordingly.

If you do not treat the body with respect by nourishing it properly and by exercising it as needed, your energy can be scattered in directions that can undermine your goals and life's plan. Worrying about your aches and pains, excess weight, or other ailments will dilute your concentration to the point of blocking your faith in a positive outcome, while permitting feelings of fear to predominate. Of course, true physical complaints need to be checked over by a health professional, instead of being ignored. Always see a physician if your health issues are creating worry for you.

Wayne : Recently, I have decided to exercise more regularly. I had fallen out of a workout regimen for several years, but now I have a renewed commitment to take care of my physical body. The body and soul work as a team; a body in tune with itself promotes a vital mind, which, in turn, helps your soul to fulfill its purpose.

One major way to cherish your body is to choose to be sexually active. Your body was created for physical pleasure besides being your soul's vessel while here on this earth. Sex and spirituality are inseparable; as long as you involve your soul in the process, sexual fulfillment is a natural and beneficial part of spiritual growth.

Time to Grow New Love

By following the above principles, you have made yourself ready to bring more love into your life. The more love you send out into the universe, the more will come back to you. Having the intention of attracting more love will manifest itself in your reality as increased affection, which will enter your life from many sources. A new day of love is now dawning, as you open your heart to infinite possibilities presented by your inner guidance.

When you have the goal of drawing more love into your existence, you will find that the universe has an answer to your request. Once you ask for more love in your life, the relationships you already have will become even better, and any brand-new friendships coming in will be positive and harmonious. What you focus on expands, so the simple act of deciding you want more loving relationships will start the ball rolling to make it happen.

Manifesting a new relationship into your life is a rather simple process, but once you use the powerful manifesting technique that follows, be prepared to let the universe bring more love to you in its own way and in its own time. Timing is everything in the universe; ask for what you desire, but continue to have patience as to when it will be fulfilled.

Meditation Seed: Attracting More Love into Your Life

Relax and close your eyes. After getting into your peaceful state, begin to visualize more and more love coming into your life, by using a symbol that represents love for you, such as a heart or other meaningful sign. See that love symbol multiplying, becoming brighter and more colorful. Let your inner vision be filled with your symbol for love--let it wash over your mental self in waves of joy and peace. Feel the love of the universe filling your entire body and mind. Take as long as you desire to complete this exercise. Don't be fooled by the simplicity of this meditation--you have just put in an order to the universe to receive more love into your life.
